Edna Mae Johnson, 80, of York, formerly of Bellefonte, died Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Frey Village in Middletown.
She was born November 20, 1933, at Wingate, PA a daughter of the late Boyd Arthur and Mary T. Miller Nihart.
On August 29, 1953 she married C. Neil Johnson who preceded her in death November 14, 1988.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Axemann United Methodist Church prior to moving to York, where she was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in York.
She was employed for nearly forty years as an accountant for the former Claster's Lumber Company.
Edna enjoyed bowling and playing cards, but what she cherished most was spending time with her family.
Surviving Mrs. Johnson is one daughter, Cindy M. Johnson of Middletown, one brother Robert Nihart, and one sister, Janice Day.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son Gary L. Johnson and siblings James and Reuben Nihart and Thelma Snook
Friends will be received from 10-11 AM, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral will follow immediately at 11 AM at the funeral home with pastor Bob Dornan officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Centre County Memorial Park, State College.
