Edward R. Houser Jr., 74, of Centre Hall. Formerly of Milesburg passed peacefully at Mount Nittany Medical Center with his loving daughter by his side.

Born September 21, 1940 in Bellefonte, a son of the late Edward R. Houser Sr. and Virginia Houser (Grafmyre)

He was self employed most of his life, having owned Houser Tire and Houser Auto Sales. He enjoyed tinkering, woodworking, car rides and toying with anything with wheels. Most of all he loved to spend time with his great grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his former wife Patricia Houser (Puncheon), his parents and his sister Joyce Shuey (Houser).

He is survived by his daughter Beth Newman (Tom), granddaughter Jennifer Bird (Will), grandson Ryan Newman (Nicole) and his 4 great grandsons Liam, Rhys, Jackson and Cael. Also by his former wife Gertrude Houser of Milesburg and her children Paula, Kim, Billijo Russ, and eight grandchildren and also his brother William Houser of Bellefonte.

Friends will be received from 5 - 7 p. m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801. The funeral service will follow at 7 p. m. with Chaplain Peggy Lindsey officiating.
