Edward Ira Parker, 61, of rural Port Matilda, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Mt. Nittany Medical Centre at State College.
He was born April 26, 1951, in Bellefonte, a son of Dorothy Johnson Parker of Windy Hill Village in Phillipsburg, and the late Ira C. Parker.
Most recently he had worked as route delivery person for Centre Daily Times and earlier in life had worked in the kitchen at the Carnegie House, for Bonchack Maintenance and Remodeling, as well as having worked on various dairy farms in the area.
Ed especially enjoyed camping and NASCAR Racing.
In addition to his mother he is survived by two sisters, Linda Gummo (Bill) of rural Port Matilda, and JoAnne Bloom (Steve) of Pine Grove Mills; two nieces, Heidi Walk (Jeremy) and Tracy Gardner (Wade); two nephews Jason Gummo (Tabitha) Jake Gummo (Heather); and great nieces and nephews, Jared, Madi, Averey, Kelsey, Hope, Kylee and Landon.
Friends will be received from 10:00 -11:00 a. m. Monday, June 25, 2012, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, P. C. 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 a. m. at the funeral home, with the Reverend Todd Templeton officiating. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
