Obituary

Edythe Z. Clair, 101, of State College, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center.
She was born on November 27, 1905 in N.Y., NY to the late Henry and Mary Rosen Zaconick.
She married Dr. Philip S. Clair who preceded her in death in 1964.
She was past president of the Oaklane Hadassah in Philadelphia. Prior to her moving to State College she was active in the woman's medical alumni of Thomas Jefferson Medical School and the woman's auxiliary of the Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.
She loved to knit and entertained service personnel during WW II. She was instrumental in knitting hats for serviceman during WW II, Korean, Vietnam, and Iraq wars.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. Gerald F. Clair and his wife Susan of State College, Dr. Henry S. Clair and his wife Elaine of Phila.; a sister, Jeanne Kalish of Phila.; five grandchildren, Lynor Bachman and family of Boalsburg, Lee Clair and family of Chicago, IL, Amy Bilyeu and family of State College, Dr. David Clair and family of Bethleham, Beth Eisenman and family of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
