Elaine S. (Sis) Casher, 91, of rural Centre Hall, went home to be with her Savior on Monday, June 10, 2013; at Mt. Nittany Medical Center at State College
She was born April 27, 1922, near Bellefonte, a daughter of the late Floyd E. and Anna Roberta Beaty Snyder.
On June 20, 1940 she married Joseph A. Casher who preceded her in death on May 29, 1982.
Elaine graduated from Centre Hall Potter High School in Centre Hall.
Mrs. Casher worked at Getting Pharmaceuticals in Spring Mills and was a homemaker most of her life.
She was an active member of Madisonburg United Methodist Church where she served as a Lay Leader, Sunday School Teacher, and on the Evangelism Committee.
Unusually gifted as a seamstress, she made several wedding gowns, and enjoyed crocheting, embroidery. She also loved flowers and gardening.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia A. Yetter of rural Centre Hall, one son, Joseph L. Casher and his wife Ruth of Milesburg; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren; and one brother LeRoy Snyder of Coburn.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Susan Joy; a son in law Ray Yetter; one sister Marie Beck; and three brothers Ken, Burton and Frances Snyder.
Friends will be received from 10 - 11 a. m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Madisonburg United Methodist Church, Madisonburg, PA. A memorial celebration of her life will follow in the church with the Pastor Jonathan Morningstar and the Reverend Michael Covalt officiating. Burial will follow in the Madisonburg E. U. B. Cemetery in Madisonburg.
