Eleanor Jane Shue, 94, of Valley View Retirement Community, Belleville, died Friday, April 29, 2005, at the Lewistown Hospital, Lewistown, PA.
She was born August 18, 1910 in Latrobe, PA, a daughter of the late Reverend Lawrence and Elva Stahl.
On September 11, 1939 she married The Reverend Benjamin F. Shue who survives at the Valley View Retirement Community in Belleville.
Mrs. Shue graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio as an English Major. She served as an English teacher and elementary school teacher in the Johnstown, Lower Burrell and New Kensington School Districts.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in State College, the American Bible Society and the Women's Christian Temperance Union. She enjoyed flower gardening, knitting, reading and church activities. Mrs. Shue was a gifted and devoted minister's wife, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a dedicated teacher.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Joyce Ruth Crescenzi and her husband Charles, of York, PA; two sons, Lawrence John Shue and his wife Linda, of Greensboro, NC and Benjamin Franklin Shue II and his wife Judy, of Centre Hall, PA; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2005 until the time of the service, at the mausoleum of the Grandview Cemetery, 801 Millcreek Road, Johnstown, PA. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a. m. with the Reverend Thomas H. Jacobs, pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in State College, officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum.
