Elizabeth Miller Smith Forster Dobelbower, 81, of Bellefonte and formerly of State College, died Saturday, April 29, 2006 at Centre Crest in Bellefonte. She had also resided in Florida for five years, Turkey for five years, and briefly resided in Egypt.
She was born May 18, 1924 in Bellefonte a daughter of the late Nevin Royer and Nellie Rebecca Miller Smith.
In June of 1946, she married Walter Forster who preceded her in death in 1963. In June of 1972, she married John L. Dobelbower who preceded her in death in 1991.
Elizabeth graduated from Bellefonte High School.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bellefonte, where she sang in the church choir, and a member of the ladies auxiliary of the V. F. W. in Bellefonte.
In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Parrish Drug Store and Williams Men's Store in Bellfonte. She also worked at Clearfield Furs in State College and served as head of the Cosmetics Department at Danks in State College.
She enjoyed needlework, crafts, and earlier in life enjoyed golfing.
Elizabeth is survived by her two sons, Robert Walter Forster, and James Richard Forster both of State College; one stepson, John Dobelbower of Waco, TX; one sister, Pauline Cox of Lemont and one brother, George Wendell Smith of Bellefonte; two grandsons, and two step grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
