Obituary

Elizabeth Jane Wynn Deibler
Elizabeth Deibler, 77, passed away June 13, 2008 from complications due to multiple myeloma. She most recently lived in the Fairways at Brookline Village in State College. Prior to her move there, she had lived in Centre Hall near her daughter, Laura.
Betsy was born at home in Pine Grove, PA on May 6, 1931, to the late Dr. George A. Wynn and his wife Mary Elizabeth Gilbert Wynn. Two sisters, Dawn and Sue, later joined the family. Betsy attended grade school and high school in Pine Grove, graduating in 1949 as the class valedictorian. After graduation, she attended the Harrisburg Institute of Medical Arts (Dr. Bloom's school) and graduated in 1952 as a medical lab technician. She worked several years in the laboratory at the Harrisburg Hospital.
On May 23, 1953, she married Gilbert Schaeffer Deibler, a WWII navy veteran, in a service conducted by the Rev. Walter E. Deibler, the groom's father. The newlyweds lived in Pine Grove and Harrisburg for several years before settling in Shiremanstown. Two daughters were born to them: Laura Elizabeth, in 1956, and Amy Wynn, in 1961. In 1968, they bought their first home and moved the family to Marysville, PA.
Betsy and Gil spent many years attending auctions and flea markets, buying and selling antiques. They both enjoyed collecting; Betsy was particularly fond of buttons and art pottery. Always an avid reader, she spent countless hours volunteering at the then newly-formed public library in Marysville. She continued to utilize and support libraries throughout her years.
Gil died on March 29, 1996. Betsy lived in Marysville for several more years before selling her home and moving to Centre Hall, PA to be closer to her family.
Her daughter Laura is married to Allan Darr and lives in rural Centre Hall. They have two daughters, Kristin and Carolyn. Daughter Amy is married to Scott Canute and lives in Zionsville, IN. They have one daughter, Irina. Dawn, Betsy's middle sister, is married to Richard Heinbach and lives in Locust Grove, VA. Sue, the youngest, has lived in Wickenburg, AZ since 1996.
