Obituary

Elsie I. Beck, 72, of rural Port Matilda, died Thursday, December 9, 2010, as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
She was born April 13, 1938 at Lance, a daughter of the late Ture and Hazel Sones Lindstrom
On April 17 1957, in State College, she married Brady Irvin Beck who preceded her in death on February 23, 2003.
In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Beck drove school bus for Brown's Busing, and worked in the cafeteria of various schools within the State College Area School District.
She was a member of Black Oak United Methodist Church at rural Port Matilda and a member of the Halfmoon Township Grange.
Spending time with her family was both important and enjoyable to her and she was known as "Gram" to many who were not part of her own family by relation. She loved traveling to amusement parks with her family, camping, snowmobiling, and attending Grange Fair. Elsie was an avid and accomplished bowler.
Surviving her are three daughters,Kathy Ann Beck of Snow Shoe, Tammy Jo Beck of East Freedom, and Tina Sue Padisak Steve) of Snow Shoe; one son Tom Beck (Donna) of Warriors Mark; one sister, Alice Lippert of Hyde; one brother, Richard Lindstrom of Morrisdale; eight grandchildren, Sandy Beck, Patti Wenrick, Michelle Irvin, Melinda Hardy, Trent Beck, Kyndal Korman, Dillon Hollenback, and Brock Padisak; seven great grandchildren, Marissa, Clayton, Bailey, Emma, Joshua, Connor and Makenna; three step grandchildren, Crystal, Shawna, and Nichole Miller; and one step great grandson, Jacob.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight siblings, Robert, Harold, Norm, Donald, Carl, Peg, Jean, and Ruby.
Friends will be received from 2 - 4 p. m. Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA, with Grange service of honor to follow immediately at 4:00 p.m.; and from 10:00 a. m. to 11:00 a. m. Monday, December 13, 2010 at the funeral home. The funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 with the Reverend Sam Reese officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Beck's memory may be made to Black Oak United Methodist Church, 107 Creekside Lane, Port Matilda, PA 16870; or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Donor Services, P. O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
