Elsie V. McFadden, 96, of Potters Mills, died on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at Valley View Haven in Belleville, PA
She was born Aug. 5, 1907 in Potters Mills, a daughter of the late Edward and K. Barbara Weaver Sweetwood.
On March 23, 1929 she married Lester McFadden who preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1991.
Mrs. McFadden attended Potters Mills one room school through eighth grade. Early in life she worked as a cook and was a homemaker most of her life.
She was a member of Sprucetown United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Potters Mills.
She especially enjoyed playing board games, cards, and bingo.
She is survived by nieces and nephews. As the last member of her immediate family, in addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
At her request there will be no public visitation. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p. m., Thursday, September 18, 2003 at Sprucetown United Methodist Church Cemetery, Upper Georges Valley Road, Spring Mills, with the Rev. Galen Sharp, Chaplain of Valley View Retirement Center, officiating.
