Mr. Eric Vaughan Schramm, son to the late Richard V. Schramm and Patricia L. Schramm, was born in Belleville, IL on June 8, 1959. Eric grew up in Cahokia, IL with his parents and two sisters, Susan Schramm and Inger Carter, née Schramm. He achieved a bachelor's degree in ceramic engineering from The University of Missouri at Rolla and had a very successful career in engineering, working at and managing such production plants as Rival Crockpots, CertainTeed and Pittsburgh Glass Works.

In 1983 in Kingsport, TN, Eric married Mary Susan Grewe and they raised three children together, Christina Piepenbring, née Schramm (Erich), Lauren Cox, née Schramm (James), and Ian Schramm (Ashley). He was blessed with two granddaughters, Flora Piepenbring and Henley Cox, with two more granddaughters on the way. Eric received great joy from watching his family grow and being a provider and presence in their lives.

Eric also took pleasure in such things as movies, music, dancing, travel, entertaining, games, and meeting and socializing with new people. Incredibly charming, he never met a stranger. He was generous and loving to all who knew him. Later in life, he spent time traveling with and being a loving companion to his best friend, Maria Perdomo and her two daughters Cristina and Sofia.

Eric passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 and will be forever cherished by those he left behind.
