Esther Kenison Confer, 92, died Friday, December 14, 2012, at Centre Crest Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Bellefonte.
She was born August 25, 1920, in Pago Pago, American Samoa, a daughter of Frederick and Ruth Molimau Kenison.
On November 15, 1941, she married Ronald E. Confer who preceded her in death.
Esther was a loving caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was greatly appreciated by her family and friends for her amazing cooking skills and exceptional talent as a seamstress. She was a World War II Pearl Harbor survivor.
Esther is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Bartosik of Redondo Beach, CA; two sons, Roan J. Confer Sr. of Lewisburg, PA and Philip R. Confer and his wife, Phyllis of Killingworth, CT; Grandchildren, Roan Confer, Jr. and his wife, Marcia; Cheryl Harpster and her husband, Jerry, Lynn Parkard, Lisa Green, Michael Confer and his wife, Kathy, and Colby Kenison Shannon and her husband, Patrick; Step Grandchildren, Scott Cipolla and his wife, Megan, and Dana Garitta and her husband, Tony; Great Grandchildren, Madalyn Confer, William Confer, Benjamin Confer, Mathew Harpster, Brooke Harpster, Carter Shannon, Jaxon Green, and Zackary Packard; Step Great Grandchildren, Josh, Alyssa, and Tanner Garitta, and Laila Rose Cipolla.
A Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 beginning at 11:00 a. m. at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College with the Reverend Rick Wilson officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College.
