Obituary

Esther Mae Hollobaugh, 99, of Centre Hall, went home to be with her Lord, on Saturday, April 26, 2008, at her home.
She was born August 28, 1908, at Millcreek, a daughter of the late George Nelson and Mary Etta Rutherford Knepp.
On April 21, 1926 she married Porter E. Hollobaugh who preceded her in death on January 29, 1982.
Mrs. Hollobaugh is survived by seven daughters, Doris Smith of Bellefonte, Caroline Gardner and her husband Joe of Pleasant Gap, Betty Dawson of Bellefonte, Linda Hettinger and her husband Donald of Rebersburg, Ruth Houtz and her companion Don Shawver of Mingoville, Sue Elliot and her husband John of Ulysses, Kansas, and D. Jean Fogelman and her husband Dennis of Milesburg; three sons, William Hollobaugh and his wife Pat of rural Bellefonte, Clair Hollobaugh and his wife Pam, and Blair Hollobaugh all of Centre Hall; a daughter in law, Ingeborg Hollobaugh of State College; one sister, Fae Sunday of Hanover, PA; thirty one grandchildren, eighty great grandchildren, and forty five great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Donald, George, and Kenneth Hollobaugh, three brothers, Blair, Clair, and Simpson Knepp; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Esther had been employed as a cook at Penns Valley High School and Centre Crest Nursing Home. She later worked at Penn State University, retiring as a line cook at The Hub.
She was a member of Calvary Bible Church at Centre Hall, the Centre Hall Senior Citizens, and earlier in life was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Altoona.
Mrs. Hollobaugh treasured time with her family, and enjoyed embroidery work.
Friends will be received from 7 - 9 p. m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a. m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at the funeral home with the Reverend Richard Gilbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Cemetery, Zion, PA
