Esther M. Shope, 90, passed away February 17, 2007 at Centre Crest. She was born September 28, 1916 at Waddle. She was the daughter of the late James E. Dobson and Emma L. Dobson of Mingoville, PA. She married Ralph L. Shope on December 30, 1935 who died December 7,1967. She is survived by two sons, Ralph L. Shope, Jr., wife Louise of State College, PA and Stanley M. Shope, wife Helen of McClure and two granddaughters, Cindy Waltemire and husband Richard of Cranberry Twp., and Nicki Stoltzfus and husband Wayne of McClure, two great-grandsons, Richard Waltemire of Newark, DE and Michael Waltemire of Cranberry Twp., and one great-granddaughter, Karly Stolftzfus of McClure and her three faithful nieces, Jeanie, Joyce and Judy. She is also survived by two brothers, Willis Dobson of Centre Hall, and Harvey Dobson of Mingoville. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Preston, Bill, Lee, Oliver and Clarence Dobson and two sisters, Mary Faust of Coburn, PA. Bertha Heintz. She was a member of Sprucetown United Methodist Church in Potters Mills. She enjoyed home decorating, working in her flowerbeds and watching birds. She was employed at Penn Nursery and later at Gettig Engineering in Spring Mills. Funeral services will be held at Heintzelman Funeral Home 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 1 :00 p.m., with Rev. Jeffrey Mugridge officiating. Burial will be in Sprucetown Cemetery.
