Ethel M. Reisinger's Obituary
Ethel M. Reisinger, 99, of State College, went home to be with her Lord, Thursday, December 29, 2011, at her home.
She was born December 1, 1912 in Juniata, a daughter of the late Harry and Cora Nelson Crain. On August 1, 1936, she married Harold J. Reisinger who preceded her in death on December 21, 1991.
Ethel graduated as a registered nurse from Mercy School of Nursing in Altoona, and worked at Mercy Hospital. She also worked as a Physical Therapist at the Pennsylvania State University in the Ritenour Health Center.
Mrs. Reisinger was a twenty five year member of the State College Coral Society. She was active with the Bloodmobile in State College and the Red Cross in Altoona. She was a devoted church member and worker. Ethel served the Lord as church organist, Sunday and Bible School Teacher. She also worked with Child Evangelism and In Home Campus Ministries. She was a true prayer warrior who not only genuinely believed in the power of prayer, but also devoted a great deal of time to prayer. Ethel was a gifted musician and opera singer.
Surviving Mrs. Reisinger are a daughter Marilyn Fye and her husband Lee, with whom Mrs. Reisinger resided for several years; one son David Reisinger and his wife Lucille of Beech Creek; two sisters, Jean Pittman of Altoona and Peggy Gutshall of Hollidaysburg: five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; two step grandchildren, and five step great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Rogers; and three brothers in law, Charles Rodgers, Jim Pittman and Jerry Gutshall.
A memorial service will be held Monday, January 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, with the Reverend Alan Eckenroad officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery, State College.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to The Mission Fund at the State College Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 1221 W. Whitehall Road, State College, Pa 16801
