Eugene B. Tyson, 95, of Bellefonte, passed away June 11, 2023. He was born in Boggs Township, PA on January 15, 1928 to the late Gordon and Jeanette (Heverly) Tyson. In 1951 he married Betty J. Spicer.

Eugene was a farmer for the early part of his life and would later retire from the maintenance department of Penn State University. He was an active member of Shiloh Lutheran Church and especially enjoyed mowing the lawn with his tractor.

Along with his parents Eugene was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard and Kenneth Tyson and twin sister, Jean Rensis. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Betty J. Tyson who survives at home; sons, Kenneth L. Tyson (Beth) of Lewistown, PA and Boyd L. Tyson (Cathy) of Bellefonte, PA; half brother, Gordon Tyson, Jr. (Joann) of North Carolina; 2 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 10:00am - 11:00am at the Haky/Georgiana Centre County Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801. Interment will be private at Centre County Memorial Park.
