Eulene S. Toothman, 91, of State College, died Thursday, January 23, 2014 at The Atrium of Penn State Village.
Born February 9, 1922, in Washington D.C. she was the daughter of the late William T. Smothers, DVM and Alice Wagner.
On September 4, 1945, she married James S. Toothman, who predeceased her December 9, 2009.
During W.W.II she was employed by Army Ordnance in the Pentagon, Washington., D.C. In June 1943, she graduated from George Washington University and in subsequent years took graduate work at Temple and Penn State Universities.
In June 1982, she retired from Fairmont Elementary School and she was a member of the PSEA. Afterwards, she volunteered at the Food Bank and State College Woman's Club.
With her husband, both prior and after retirement, she traveled domestically and world-wide extensively.
She is survived by daughter, Karen T. Parnes; and grandsons David and Aaron; a son, J. Rees Toothman; and grandson Jared and granddaughter, Alix.
