Eva Jane Fry, 85, of State College, died on Sunday September 28, 2008 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township.
Born in Indiana County on July 20, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Edna Lauretta (Wells) Marshall.
On November 4, 1941, she was married to Melvin S. Fry, who preceded her in death after 48 years of marriage on August 6, 1989.
Mrs. Fry was employed as a Dental Assistant, retiring in 1981 after 27 years of employment for M.K. Gingrich of State College.
She was a member of the Pine Hall Lutheran Church and was a social member of the American Legion Post 245 of State College.
She is survived by four daughters, Sally J. Mothersbaugh and her husband Lewis of Centre Hall, Rosie M. McClintic and her husband Don of Boalsburg, Mary E. Seitz of Bellefonte, and Carol L. Dry and her husband Glenn (Butch) of Boalsburg; one son, John M. Fry and his wife Antoinette of Mifflinburg; one brother, C. Thompson Marshall and his wife Ruth of Smicksburg; one sister, Nancy Daunce and her husband Robert of Las Vegas, NV; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her companion and special friend, Blair Pressler.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, John C. Marshall; one sister, Louise Worthley; and one great-grandson, Brian Spackman.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 10 AM from the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Funeral Services will begin at 11 AM on Friday at the funeral home with the Reverend Gregory Harbaugh officiating. Interment will be at the Centre County Memorial Park.
