Evelyn Ann Dreibelbis Smith, 78, of State College, died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Mission Viejo Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA

She was born March 27, 1936, in State College, a daughter of the late Carl and Clarabelle Auman Dreibelbis.

Mrs. Smith was a graduate of State College High School

On December 21, 1957; she married Peter Richard Smith who preceded her in death on November 21, 1996.

She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ at Pine Hall.

Mrs. Smith enjoyed trips to Seneca Lake where she enjoyed boating and fishing. She was also an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling.

For many years, she was employed at Pattee Library in the rare books room. After retiring from Pattee, she volunteered at Centre Peace in Bellefonte.

Surviving Evelyn is one daughter Leanne Wendell (Donald) of Gettysburg; two sons, Robert D. Smith (Wendy) of Warriors Mark, and Brian K. Smith and spouse Wes Litzinger of Laguna Beach, CA; two grandchildren, Kyle Smith and Kelsey Wendell; and one brother Wayne Dreibelbis (Phyllis) of State College

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers Blaine and David Dreibelbis.

Friends will be received from 6 to 7 pm Sunday December 21, 2014 at St Peters United Church of Christ, 1795 West College Ave., State College, PA The funeral will follow at 7:00 pm at the church, with the Reverend Charles Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
