Obituary

Faye A. Winkelblech passed away peacefully on August 25, 2022 at the age of 90. Born in Spring Mills on April 22, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Randall Detwiler and Florence Smith and was raised by the late Merrill J. and Florence (Smith) Walker. She graduated from Gregg Township High School in 1950 and the Altoona School of Commerce in 1951. Faye worked as a secretary in a variety of places including The Millheim Journal. She was also a housewife and enjoyed working the family farm with her husband Dean R. Winkelblech.

When her children were older, Faye worked at the Aaronsburg Library. One of her greatest joys in life was watching her grandchildren in high school soccer games and musicals. She also enjoyed feeding and watching birds in her yard and doing puzzles. She was a faithful Christian all of her life, attending Salem Lutheran Church of Aaronsburg and later, Trinity UCC of Centre Hall.

Faye is survived by a son, Michael Bame and wife Connie of McElhattan; one daughter, Nancy (Winkelblech) Eberly and husband Steven of Boiling Springs; a step-son, James Winkelblech and wife Carol of Aaronsburg; two brothers, Merrill "Bud" Walker of Centre Hall and James Walker of San Jose, CA; one sister, Janet Biviano of Pleasant Gap; four grandchildren: Chelsea (Eberly) Johns, Benjamin Eberly, Lauren (Eberly) Lipscomb and Sasha Mulchin; and two step-grandchildren, Paul Winkelblech and Kevin Winkelblech.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan (Bame) Berry and Barbara (Winkelblech) Taylor; a brother, John Walker and a sister, Barbara Stover.

Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Faye's memory may be made to the Penns Valley Hope Fund, P.O. Box 427 Centre Hall, PA 16828.
