Felix L. Bottino, 89, of State College died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center at State College.
He was born January 3, 1921 in Bronx, NY; a son of the late Edward and Ernestina Albera Bottino
On October 6, 1946, he married Angelina Parachini who survives at home.
Felix graduated from Park Ridge High School in Park Ridge, NJ. During WWII, from September 14, 1942 to January 31, 1946, he served in the U. S. Army Air Corps with the 1041st Engineer Squadron earning the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded an American Theater Service Ribbon, a European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon, a World War II Victory Medal and a Good Conduct medal.
In 1948, he began to work as a salesperson for Dorchester Liquor Company, retiring in 1977.
Mr. Bottino was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, and a former member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus both in Stuart, FL
Among the things he enjoyed most were spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, golfing and observing trends in the stock market.
Surviving him are two daughters, Elaine Berrena and her husband Michael of State College, and Janice Messick and her husband Donald of Emerson, NJ; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one sister, Olga Baldassare of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Albert.
Friends will be received from 6 - 8 p. m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a. m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010; Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 867 Grays Woods Blvd., State College, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Hospice Unit at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, 1800 E. Park Ave. State College, PA 16801
