Fern E. Sheaffer, 76, of State College, died Monday, January 10, 2011, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center at State College.
She was born in New York, August 6, 1934.
Fern was married to Paul L. Sheaffer who preceded her in death on August 1, 1974.
Throughout her working life, Mrs. Sheaffer was employed in housekeeping at various hospitals, nursing homes, and hotels.
Among the things she enjoyed most were fishing, watching baseball and N.A.S.C.A.R. racing and spending time with her cat "Brat".
Surviving Fern are two sons, William Hill of Centre Hall, and David Sheaffer of State College; two step sons, Karl and Paul Sheaffer; two sisters, Helena Sherman and Beatrice Jacobs; and one brother, Robert Hill Sr.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three siblings, Mary, Ralph and George Hill.
Friends will be received from 6 - 7 p. m. Thursday, January 13, 2011, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will follow immediately at 7:00 p. m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Harry Brotzman officiating. A private burial service will be held at Centre County Memorial Park.
