Fietta M. Johnson, 99, of Howard, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at Centre Crest Nursing Center in Bellefonte.
She was born May 24, 1910, in Zion, a daughter of the late William and Sally Seyler Shaffer.
She was married to Clarence Johnson who preceded her in death on February 23, 1957.
Prior to her illness she attended Milesburg Assembly of God.
Mrs. Johnson especially enjoyed reading her Bible, spending time with family, walking, and knitting. She was an accomplished cook and baker.
Surviving Fietta are two sons, Roy S. Johnson and his wife Jane, of Howard, and Lee E. Johnson and his wife Audrey, of Bellefonte; one sister Kathryn Masullo of Bellefonte; a brother William Shaffer and his wife Shirley of Bellefonte; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Bella Hocking; two sons William and Clarence Jr., a granddaughter Debra Hocking-Zook; and three sisters, Elsie Williams, Viola Baney, and Mary Letterman.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a. m. until noon, Saturday, January 30, 2010, to at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will follow at noon at the funeral home Burial will be private at the convenience of the family, in Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA.
