Foster L. Tice, 76, of Colyer, died on Monday, September 21, 2009 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township.
He was born in Union Township on May 3, 1933, a son of the late Fred and Emily (Hall) Tice.
On May 3, 1960, he was married to the former Rose Coble, who survives at home.
Mr. Tice faithfully served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1954 to 1957.
He was a member of the Millheim American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, watching deer, and working on small engines.
He had been employed at Penn State University in the Food Services Department, retiring in 1981.
Along with his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Emily Keith of Beech Creek, Kimberly Tice of Centre Hall, and Debra Stitzer and her husband Brad of Spring Mills; one son, Dale Tice and his wife Susan of Spring Mills; four brothers, Ralph Tice of Milesburg, Russell Tice of Howard, Nelson Tice of Bellefonte, and Melvin Tice of Spring Mills; five sisters, Faye Biggans of Snow Shoe, Becky Musser of State College, Lois Kerestter of Bellefonte, Verna Peese of State College, and Viola Tice of Lock Haven; six grandchildren, Brandi and Chad Stitzer, Jamie and Nicklous Keith, and Makayla and Bethany Tice; two step-grandchildren, Tyler and Samuel Koser; and one great-grandson, Trenten Vanada.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Shellenberger; and two sons, Leroy and Richard Tice.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Zion Hill Cemetery, Churchill Road, Colyer, with the Reverend Marvin Freed officiating.
