Obituary

Fred A. Johnson, 60, of Houserville, died Monday, October 8, 2012, at his home.
He was born March 13, 1952 in Bellefonte, a son of the late Harold and Helen Gibboney Johnson.
Fred graduated from Bellefonte High School in 1970, and early in life was employed Service Technician at Meirley Volkswagen in State College. Later he went to work for Hanover Foods at Centre Hall.
Fred was a member of Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church. He was an avid sports fan and early in life played baseball and enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and traveling. He also enjoyed cooking which ultimately led him to volunteer to help to prepare and serve various free holiday meals. He also loved spending time with his Siberian Husky, Tarkus.
Surviving Mr. Johnson are two daughters, Sarah Nichole Johnson of rural Howard and Nichole Elizabeth Ambrosino of Palm Bay FL; two grandchildren, Savannah Jones and Allexes Ambrosino; one sister Carol J. DeHass of Centre Hall; one brother, Gene D. Johnson and his wife Mary of Turbotville; and a brother in law Earl DeHass of Bellefonte; and his nieces and nephews, Angela and Pamela DeHass, Kylee Rupert (Justin), Alexis Dehass-Ewing, Anna Cooper(Tom), Buddy Johnson (Jennifer), and Megan Johnson along with serveral great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be recieved from 6:30 until 7:00 p. m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012,at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service P. C. 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The memorial service will follow at 7:00 p. m. at the funeral home with the Reverend John J. Dromozos officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 417 Phoenix Dr, Suite A; Chambersburg, PA 17201.
