Frederick (Fred) Jesse Dunlap, 71, of Centre Hall, died Thursday, June 24, 2004 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College.
He was born March 25, 1933, in Spring Twp., a son of the late John David and Henrietta Nolan Dunlap.
On January 2, 1959, he married Marjorie H. Hastings who survives at home.
Mr. Dunlap served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict from Sept. 30, 1950 until Sept 29, 1954. He earned a good conduct medal and a National Defense Service Medal.
He was employed as a machinist at Cerro Metals for many years. He then went to work for Wintron Co. of Howard, as a machinist retiring in 2003. He was very active in the Centre Hall Fire company and ambulance club for many years. He served as a First Aide and CPR Instructor at Cente Hall Fire Company, and was a past president of the fire company.
Earlier in life he enjoyed hunting, and was an avid fisherman. His primary enjoyment was his grandchildren, Shane, Shannon and Michelle Dunlap.
In addition to his wife and grandchildren, he is survived by one son David C. Dunlap and his wife Sherri of Centre Hall, his mother in law Dolly Hastings of Centre Hall and 4 sisters, Patricia Flynn of Bellefonte, Cathy Krone of Bellefonte, Molly Shuey and her husband Melvin of Bellefone, and Henrietta Marquett and her husband Alvin of Spring Mills; 2 brothers Douglas Dunlap and his wife Janet of Woodward, and John Dunlap and his wife Darla of Spring Mills.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Micahel Kenneth Dunlap July 3, 1988
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p. m. Monday, June 28, 2004 at Calvary Bible Church, 600 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA, with the Rev. James Gray Officiating. Friends will be received in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the memorial service service.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family, in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, W. Church St. Centre Hall, PA.
