Fredrick E. Martz, 71, of Bellefonte, on Monday, April 15, 2013, at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Twp. Born on November 30, 1941, in Laurel, MD. Son of the late Daniel and Eva (Starr) Martz. Beloved husband of 41 years to Gloria (Rossman) Martz; father of Patrick D. Martz (Frank Siaca), and Shelly L. Majcen (Mario), of Pittsburgh; grandfather of Greta Majcen; one brother, William Martz of Rauchtown; and a sister, Evelyn Brockman of Fairbanks, AK. He was a former owner/operator for Allied Van Lines; former owner of the Village Inn from 1976 to 1984; and owner of Sparkle Wash of Keystone Country from 1984 until he retired in 2009. Mr. Martz honorably served our country in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1966. He was a member of the 47 1st Marine Corps League, the American Legion in Pleasant Gap, and an avid motor scooter rider. He was an animal lover, enjoyed working, and loved reading. Family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, April 18, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 19, beginning at 10am with the Reverend Renee Ford officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family at Centre County Memorial Park.
