Garth S. Homan, 63, of State College, PA, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College.
He was born February 17, 1942 in Altoona, a son of the late Warren C. and Pauline "Polly" Cramer Homan.
On May 29, 1965, he married Diana R. Williams who survives at home.
Mr. Homan worked as a mechanic for many years, beginning at Miller Motors in Centre Hall, then working for Lambert's ESSO, Stocker Chev. and Krout Pontiac. He then went to work as a mechanic at Penn State University, and retired as a Stock Room clerk.
Garth was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Centre Hall, the Centre Hall, Alpha and Pleasant Gap Fire Companies, and a former member of the Crossroad Campers.
He especially enjoyed yard work, camping, and was a NASCAR enthusiast.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two grandchildren Vincent Corman McGee and Anthony Raymond McGee, who are being raised by the Homans; and one brother Larry V. Homan of rural Bellefonte, and a nephew Dennis L. Homan of rural Bellefonte.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Amy Diane Homan McGee, on November 8, 2001, a sister Joan Swabb and a brother Warren C. Homan Jr.
Friends will be received from 7:00 to 9:00 p. m. Saturday, June25, 2005 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, P.C., 226-228 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. The funeral will be on Sunday at 2:00 p. m. with the Reverend George W. Burn officiating.
Burial will be in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, W. Church St. Centre Hall, PA.
