Gary B. Eckenroth, 56, of Pine Valley Court, Mifflinburg, had his ultimate healing Wednesday July 25, 2007 at his home with his wife Benita and best friend holding his hand. Gary entered into the presence of his Lord listening to the song, "Softly and Tenderly, Jesus is calling."
He was born February 2, 1951 in Bellefonte, PA, the adopted son of the late Harry and Ida Eckenroth. He attended Bellefonte Schools. Gary was an over the road truck driver for Davidson Brothers Trucking of Bellefonte until his retirement in 2001 due to health problems.
For about ten years, Gary assisted Chaplain Kris Tackitt at Little Grace Chapel, the Trucker's Chapel at Tetro All American Truck Stop at Exit 215 off Interstate 80 at Milton, PA.
He is survived by his wife of three years, Benita (Griffiths) Eckenroth, whom he married December 6, 2003. He is also survived by his son Daniel Eckenroth and his companion Jennifer Shank. Also his grandchildren Bryce, Damian, Caleb, and Joshua. In addition to his wife, son, and grandchildren, Gary is survived by his former wife, Candice Krebs King.
A memorial service celebrating Gary's change of residence will be held at 3 PM Sunday, August 5, 2007 at the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene, 12 East Market Street, Mifflinburg, PA with Pastor Melvin Weaver of Elizabethtown officiating.
