Gavin Matthew Taylor, 6 months and 13 days old, passed away peacefully in his mother's arms on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Janet Weis Children's Hospital at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was born January 11, 2012 at Danville.
Gavin is survived by his mother, Beckie Lea Vangorder and his father, Matthew Taylor, both of Port Matilda; maternal grandparents, Cathy and William Schell of Milesburg and Leonard C. Vangorder Jr. of Howard; paternal grandparents, Lynn and Bridget Taylor of Bellefonte; four aunts, Lennie Rae Vangorder VMD, Jessie Jo Vangorder, both of Centre Hall, and Molly and Emily Taylor of Bellefonte; one uncle, Joshua Cox and one cousin, Peyton Rae Cox, both of Centre Hall and numerous great aunts and uncles.
Gavin loved the movie Mary Poppins, liked his jungle mobile, loved to be held, and liked to stay up all night like his mommy and daddy.
Gavin was a very strong and courageous baby, who fought against major medical obstacles his whole life.
Gavin's parents would like to extend their heart felt gratitude to staff at Geisinger Medical Center for the excellent care given to Gavin.
All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
