Obituary

George E. Adams, 60, of Port Matilda, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 8, surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 1, 1947 to Christina and William F. Adams, Sr. who preceded him in death.
George worked as the Parts Manager for Leitzinger Imports of State College for more than 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He loved his family dearly and spent much of his time passing on these hobbies to his grandchildren. This gave him much pleasure.
George is survived by his wife, Karen Adams of Port Matilda; his daughters Jena Ford and her husband Ric of State College and Shanna Staats and her husband Ted of Pittsburgh; his stepchildren Kristin Vonada and her companion Scott Snook of Warriors Mark, Fred Korman and his wife Kim of Port Matilda, and Niki Brown and her husband Chad of Port Matilda; eight grandsons and two granddaughters. George is also survived by a brother Williams Adams, Jr. and his wife Lee Ann of Port Matilda, and his sisters Shirley Adams and her companion, Jim McGovern both of State College; Nancy Harpster and her husband Tom of Pennsylvania Furnace; and Janet Decker and her husband Mark of Tyrone. His stepmother Nita Adams of Port Matilda also survives.
Visitation will be held at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services P.C., 1034 Benner Pike, State College on Sunday, January 13, 2008 from 6:00 - 8:00pm. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Pastor Charles Curley of the State College Presbyterian Church will officiate.
