Obituary

Gerald A. Eckenroth, 78, of Bellefonte, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.
Born on October 13, 1931 in Bellefonte, he was a son of the late John and Sarah (Charles) Eckenroth.
On February 26, 1949, he was married to Emma Martin, who survives at home.
He was employed and retired from the Shipping Department of Cerro Metal Products in Bellefonte.
Gerald was a very good husband, father, and grandfather and will be remembered as a good man who was very well liked among the community.
He loved airplanes, playing guitar, enjoying country western music, hunting and fishing. He will also be remembered as a very accomplished bowler.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Linda L. Hassinger and Debra J. Shook (Kevin R.); one son, Gary L.; one sister, Mary Heltman; two brothers, Harry and Thomas "Tim" Eckenroth; six grandchildren, Dennis Hassinger, Leslie Shivley, Christine Weston, John Eckenroth, Corey Eckenroth, and Brian Shook; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of Memorial Services at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Mr. Eckenroth's memory to the Central Pennsylvania SPCA, 2451 General Potter Hwy., Centre Hall, PA 16828.
