Geraldine "Jerry" L. Mowery, 77, a long-time resident of Pleasant Gap, PA died Thursday, August 22, 2013, at The Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville, PA.

She was born February 29, 1936, in Mineral Springs, PA a daughter of the late Cloyd and Gladys M. (Kephart) Lansberry.

On November 3, 1952, she married the love of her life and best friend James A. Mowery who preceded her in death July 23, 2006. Jerry was a devoted wife and mother. She was a licensed cosmetologist, wonderful cook and housewife. She loved her family and was the happiest when spending time with her husband of 53 years, children and grandchildren.

Jerry was a member of Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church. Surviving her is son Jeffery A. Mowery of Pompano Beach, FL; daughter Pamela M. Fohner and husband Rusty of Fairfield, PA; grandchildren, Melissa A. Mowery, Matthew J. and Jordan D. Kachik, Bronson J. Tate and daughter- in-law Lori Mowery.

She was preceded in death by son Dennis R. Mowery and grandson Shawn A. Mowery, and brothers Wesley, Edward, Harold, Ward, Donald, and Weaver "Dean" Lansberry; sisters Marie Shirey, Betty Dickinson, Beryl Smeal, Pauline Glaskow, Jean Billott, and Madeline Putillion.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA with Pastor Thomas Osif officiating. Interment will be in Centre County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday at 10 a.m. until the time of service.
