Gertrude M. Flanigan, 80, of Bellefonte, died at her home on June 26, 2007.
She was born in Bellefonte on February 21, 1927 to the late Joseph R. and Alice Crawford Barnes Sr.
On October 25, 1946 she married Richard A. Flanigan who preceded her in death on September 25, 2004
Prior to her retiring from the Housing Dept. at Centre Crest Nursing Home she had been employed at the Sylvania Electric Plant in Mill Hall and HRB Singer.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bellefonte for sixty-five years.
She is survived by two sisters, Shirley Alfieri of Smethport and Vesta B. Rimmey of State College; a sister-in-law, Etta E. Barnes of Clifton Park, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, John C. and Joseph Robert Barnes Jr; and two sisters, Alice Jane Napora and Sarah B. Heverly.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services PC, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801 with the Rev. Jody Reese Officiating.
