Gladys M. (Walker) Shuey, 94, of State College passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

She was born May 29, 1926, in Lamar, PA; she was a daughter of the late Merion and Grace (Smith) Walker. On August 7, 1948, she married George H. Shuey who preceded her in death on April 3, 2000.

She was a member of the Mount Nittany United Methodist Church.

Gladys was a farmer for most of her life and the founder of Shuey's Market in 1951.  She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son Felix Shuey and daughter-in-law, Connie Shuey of Bellefonte; two sisters, Esther Watson of Runville, Peggy Bierly of Linden Hall; one brother, Paul Walker of Mohnton, PA; three nephews, Gary Walker, Kenny Walker and Lee Bierly; four nieces, Nancy Watson, Susan Walker, Carol Walker, and Diane Bierly. She is also survived by one great niece, Marlina Watson Giebler.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Jacob A. Shuey and her brother, Eugene Walker.

All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Mount Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E. Branch Rd., State College, PA 16801.
