Glenn Robert Avey, 44, of San Francisco, CA, formerly of the State College area, died Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at his residence in San Francisco.
He was born October 7, 1958 in Pennsylvania, a son of Alice June Brown Avey of Boalsburg, and the late Robert Joseph Avey.
Mr. Avey was a 1976 graduate of State College Area High School. Prior to becoming disabled, he was involved in acting and the arts. He performed and worked back stage in many productions at State College High School, Penn State University, and the State College Community Theatre. He was known for his acting and singing abilities. He was also an accomplished artist. He will be fondly remembered for his Groucho Marx impressions.
He especially enjoyed animals, birds, and reptiles and would adopt and nurse injured animals back to health.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by 3 sisters; Alice L. Avey of Boalsburg, Bonnie Twyman of Fayetteville, NC, and Jill Oakley of Greensboro NC, and 2 brothers, Richard and Larry Avey both of Denver CO.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jim and Allen Avey.
Memorial services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
