Glenn O. "Jake" Crater, 76, of Spring Mills, died Saturday September 18, 2004 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte.
He was born December 5, 1927 in Gregg Twp., a son of the late James "Ollie" and Kathryn J. Gentzel Crater. He went to work at Penn State University in 1958 retiring form the College of Agriculture in 1988.
He was a member of the Gregg Twp. and Millheim Fire Companies and the Central District of the Volunteer Fireman's Association.
He is survived by a brother and sister, Gross and Phyllis Crater with whom he resided in Spring Mills, another brother Dean Crater of Centre Hall, and another sister Marie Crater of Bellefonte.
He was preceded in death by a his parents and 3 sisters, Helen, Ruth and Mabel; and 3 brothers, Richard, Eugene, and Malvin.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a. m. Wednesday, September 22, at the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, Inc. 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will follow 10:30 a. m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Smith officiating.
Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park.
