Glenn (Mac)I. McClellan,78 , of Rural Spring Mills, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at his home.
Be was born September 24, 1925, in Centre Hall, a son of the late Irvin A. and Elsie Mae Grove McClellan. On Sept. 25, 1949 he married Lenora Mae Welch who preceded him in death on March 6, 1999.
Mr. McClellan worked at Penn State University early in life and helped his father in the masonry business. In addition he drove milk truck for Rosedale and Sealtest Dairies. He also worked with his father and grandfather in their huckster business. He later farmed in George's Valley, and worked for Potter Township installing snow fences and plowing snow. After farming for several years he returned to Penn State and worked for 17 years as a janitor on the night shift.
Mr. McClellan was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Colyer, PA. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and working with wood especially making wooden toys.
He is survived by a daughter Dorothy Vonada of Spring Mills; two sons Roy G. and Thomas both of Rural Spring Mills; two brothers, Roy E. and Harold E. McClellan both of Rural Spring Mills, PA; four grandchildren Elizabeth Issaccs of pleasant Gap, Patricia Hovanec of West Newton, Jennifer Houtz and Angie Vonada of Spring Mills; 4 great grandchildren, Amanda Houtz of Tyrone, Joanne and Joshua Vonada and Morgan Houtz all of Spring Mills.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a sister Sara Musser.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p. m. Thursday, August 12, 2004 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA The funeral will be at 11:00 a. m. Friday, August 13, 2004 Bethany United Methodist Church Church Hill Road, near Coyer with the Rev. Marvin M. Freed officiating. Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery next to the church.
