Obituary

Guy R. Foust Sr., 80, of Centre Hall, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday February 12, 2006
He was born July 25, 1925, in Centre Hall, a son of the late James M. and Elizabeth Graden Foust.
On March 25, 1951, in Huntingdon, he married Ethel A. Harshbarger who preceded him in death on April 11, 2005.
Guy graduated from Centre Hall Potter High School in 1943. On September 13, 1943 he was inducted into the U. S. Army and entered his World War II Service on October 4, 1943. He served with Company "L" 351ST Infantry Regiment, 88th Infantry Division. He earned a Purple Heart, a Good Conduct Medal, a Distinguished Unit Award, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal with 4Bronze Stars, and World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged December 21, 1945 at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation in Annville, PA
He worked for 2 ½ months at Sylvania Electrical Products in Mill Hall and worked with his father in Foust Garage in Centre Hall, which he continued to own and operate after his father's retirement. He and his son Rick continued the business and later he operated the garage on his own until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Centre Hall, V. F. W. Post 1600, Bellefonte, The Military Order of the Purple Heart, and the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Foust enjoyed working with cars, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Guy is survived by a daughter Debra Colwell and her husband Ronald L. of Belleville; one son, Guy R. Foust Jr. and his wife Jan of Bellefonte; five grandchildren Laura Walker and her husband Brian and Amanda Moerschbacher and her husband Doug, Mark Colwell and his wife Jennifer, Erin Colwell and her fiance Frank Verano and Ryan Colwell; three great grandchildren, Jonathan, Christopher and Brendan Colwell; two sisters, Darlene Heller of State College, and Ruth Zonge of Lemont; and three brothers, Donald and Warren Foust both of Centre Hall and Robert Foust of rural Spring Mills. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Faust and Miriam Mills; and two brothers, Paul Faust and Harold Foust.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a. m. until 11:00 a. m. Thursday, February, 16, 2006 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a. m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Geoffrey Huish officiating. Burial will be in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, W. Church St. Centre Hall, PA
