H. Virginia (Ginny) Endres, age 84, passed away on March 6, 2016, at The Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon, PA. Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband Harry J. Helen Virginia Keller was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 7, 1931, to the late Alonzo (Ace) Keller and Ada Bailey Keller. She grew up in Aliquippa, PA and graduated from Hopewell High School.
After a year at Robert Morris Business School, Ginny began work as a secretary at Jones & Laughlin Steel headquarters. Several years later, she moved to another secretarial job at Westinghouse Electric headquarters in downtown Pittsburgh, where she met her future husband.
Following their marriage in 1957, Ginny & Hub raised their family in the South Hills, living for nine years in Scott Township, then for 26 more in Upper St. Clair.
Retirement saw the two long-time Nittany Lions fans move to a new home in State College, where they resided for 22 years. Ginny's dad was born in nearby Pine Grove Mills, where she enjoyed many visits with her grandparents. The family boasts four generations of Penn State grads -- A.C. Keller, Hub Endres, Connie Devlin and Courtney Devlin.
Ginny took particular delight in spending time with her grandchildren, whether it was a simple card game or a trip to the Jersey Shore. In addition to Penn State, she was a fan of the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins.
Both Mark and Barbara are developmentally disabled and live at Allegheny Valley School, near Pittsburgh. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Virginia's name be made to Allegheny Valley School, 1996 Ewings Mill Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108.
Friends will be received from 11:30 until noon, Friday, March 18, 2016; at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College.
