Harold E. "Lefty" Corman, 87, of Bellefonte, died Saturday, December 16, 2006 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born in Bellefonte on June 9, 1919, he was the son of the late Delbert and Blanche McCloskey Corman.
On January 8, 1942 he married Verna G. Houser who survives at home.
He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression and with the US Army in Europe during WW II.
He worked as a mechanic and TV repairman and was last employed with General Housing in the maintenance dept.
He was a member of the Valley View Methodist Church, Civil Air Patrol, Bellefonte Moose, and the Milesburg American Legion.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and reading.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Brenda Corman of Mill Hall; three sons, Harold L. and his wife Lan of Chuluota, FL, Ray E. and his wife Betty of Centre Hall, Allan R. of Bellefonte; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three brothers, Carl of Winburne, Donald of Lamar, and Paul Richard of Swissdale.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Stover.
A visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, December 18 and from 10 to 11 am on Tuesday, December 19, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services PC, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801. The funeral service will follow at 11 am Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Duane Bardo officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Valley View United Methodist Church, 1070 Valley View Rd., Bellefonte, PA 16823.
