Harold H. Homan, 94, of Centre Hall, died Monday, June 9, 2008, at the Hearthside Nursing Center in State College.
He was born December 15, 1913, at State College, a son of the late Charles Thomas Homan and Hannah Hoy Homan.
On December 10, 1938 he married Pearl E. Confer who preceded him in death on July 15, 1960. On October 2, 1965, he married Florence J. Klinefelter who preceded him in death on Oct. 31, 1980. On May 29, 1982, he married Alma M. Workinger Graham who preceded him in death on November 10, 1992.
Mr. Homan is survived by one son, Harold R. Homan and his wife Peggy of Pennsylvania Furnace; three grandchildren, Pamella Myers, and Thomas and Richard Homan; seven great grandchildren, Brandon and Travis Myers, Thomas, Christina, Dustin, Kasey and Shawna Homan; and one great great grandson Wyatt Wilson; three sisters, Mary Rhul of State College, Dorothy Klinger and Luella Hassinger both of Boalsburg, and two brothers, Claude Homan of State College, and Alton Homan of Towanda.
In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by a son John and a daughter Lois Jean Homan; and Five brothers, Ray, Lee, Morris, Edgar and Albert Homan.
Mr. Homan Worked as a truck driver for O. W. Houts in State College, and later worked as a truck driver for Centre Concrete until his retirement.
He was a member of Calvary Bible Church Centre Hall. He was also a member of and a Major in the Pennsylvania Wing Civil Air Patrol. Devoting a significant amount of his time to Grange activities, he was a member of Progress Grange in Centre Hall assisting in various activities and building maintenance; a member of the Centre County Pamona Grange, and 7th degree member of the National Grange. He served as a committee member of the Grange Fair Board for many years.
Harold especially enjoyed camping.
Friends will be received from 7 - 9 p. m. Friday, June 13, 2008, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall; where members of Progress Grange will conduct honorary Grange services at 9:00 p. m. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a. m. Saturday, at Calvary Bible Church, 600 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA, with Pastor Richard Gilbaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park, State College.
