Obituary

Harold Lee (Skip) McClarren, 70, of Rural Port Matilda, PA, died Thursday, September 18, 2003 at Centre Community Hospital.
He was born July 20, 1933 in Morgan Run, PA, a son of the late Maynard and Hazel Williams McClarren. On June 6, 1954 he married Beverly Weaver McClarren who survives at home.
Mr. McClarren was a graduate of Philipsburg High School, and was employed as a plumber at Penn State University retiring in 1989. After his retirement he was a self employed plumber.
He was a member of Woodycrest United Methodist Church where he was active in the Men's group, having served as president, and over the years served as Youth Fellowship director, Sunday School teacher and superintendent, and as a trustee. He was also involved in missions work at the various church camps. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.
He loved to hunt and fish and especially enjoyed hunting rabbits with his Beagles, Peg and Brit. He also enjoyed camping with his friends and family and woodworking. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Amy Gordon and her husband Michael of State College, Patricia Foster and her husband Frank of Helena, Montana and Kristen McClarren of Pine Grove Mills, PA; one son Jeffrey McClarren and his wife Patricia of Bellefonte, PA; three sisters, Betty Nestor of Lamar, Joy Foster of West Decatur, and Shirley Dively of Rural Port Matilda two brothers, Lloyd and Ralph McClarren both of West Decatur, seven grandchildren, Kylene, Keiran and Cole McClarren, Clay and Skylar Gordon, and Taylar and Kaden Foster, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a sister Mabel Hampton, and two brothers, Leo and Ottis McClarren.
Friends will be received from 5 - 8 p. m. Sunday Sept. 21, 2003 at the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, Inc. 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a. m. Monday, Sept 22, 2003 at Woodycrest United Methodist Church 219 W. Clearview Ave., State College, PA. The funeral will be at 10:30 a. m at the church with the Rev. Renee J. MacDougall and the Rev. Bruce Woolever officiating. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
