Harrison W. "Sonny" Tressler, Jr., 89, of Pleasant Gap, passed away January 7, 2017 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte.

Born July 14, 1927 in Bellefonte, he was a son of the late Harrison W. Sr., and Helen (Markle) Tressler.

On February 18, 1948, he married Constance "Connie" Mae Brooks, who preceded him in death on January 6, 2014.

Sonny was a graduate of Bellefonte High School and took courses at Dale Carnegie in Pittsburgh. He was also a WWII veteran.

He started his work history at Cerro Copper and Brass, and was a mason for Paul Horner in his spare time, he also drove truck for Markle Block Plant in Pleasant Gap. He sold Lifetime Cookware and Serta massaging mattresses. He went into partnership with Palmer and Roger Bierly in the office equipment business (Bierly's Office Equipment, Inc.), opening their first store in Pleasant Gap in the early 1960's. As business prospered they opened additional businesses in Tyrone and Lock Haven. Sonny became the owner of Bierly's Office Equipment in 1965 until his retirement in 2001.

Harrison was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pleasant Gap, where he was a member of the choir. He was also member of Masonic Lodge #537 of Centre Hall, The Valley of Williamsport Scottish Rite, Jaffa Shrine, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Centre Forest #129; Sonny was also a life member of the Pleasant Gap Rotary, Logan Grange # 109, The Pleasant Gap American Legion, Bellefonte Elks #1094 and The Nittany Country Club.

Harrison is survived by three daughters; Joan I. Andrews of Pleasant Gap, Kay E. Light (Darwin) of Bellefonte, Mary A. Cowher of Bellefonte; one son, Michael A. Tressler (Angel) of Morrisdale; nine grandchildren, Tracy Stover, Melanie Stodart, Kristen Perkinson, Aaron Murray, Tanner Light, Jessica and Mitchell Cowher, Mikenna and Benner Tressler; and six great grandchildren, Taylor and Andrew Stover, Sadie and Sierra Stodart, and Kayleigh and Katie Perkinson.

In addition to his parents and wife, Sonny was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Lee Tressler and Barry James Tressler.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 160 N. Main Street, Pleasant Gap, 16823. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 12, at the church with The Reverend Kevin Shock officiating. Interment will follow in Centre County Memorial Park with military honors in accord.
