Obituary

Harry Eugene Everhart, 87, of State College, died Friday, February 20, 2009 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
He was born August 20, 1921, in Warriors Mark, PA to the late Harry E. Sr. and Florence L. (Trostle) Everhart.
On December 6, 1947, in Yatesboro he married Martha J. Hoover, who preceded him in death on July 27, 2007.
Harry was 1939 graduate of Philipsburg High School and a Bell Atlantic employee for 42 years retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the State College Presbyterian Church. He was also a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy -Fire Control 1st Class, on the USS New Jersey of which he was a proud plank owner. He was a 60+ year member of Masonic Lodge # 391 in Philipsburg.
Harry's passion was painting. He was a gifted artist, traveling to the Maine coast and Outer Banks annually to find subject matter for his work. He exhibited for many years in the juried Central Pennsylvania Arts Festival as well as in a number of one-man shows. His paintings are in collections throughout the country and abroad.
Mr. Everhart is survived by a daughter, Leslie Rosenberg and her husband, Ed, of Bryant Pond, Maine and a son, Daniel Everhart of Antioch, Tennessee, a sister Anna L. Conrad and her husband Samuel, of Carlisle, PA; his companion Phyllis Winstead of Houserville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. on February 28th, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m.
