Harry F. Wegener, 82, of State College and Palm Coast, FL, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.
Born November 3, 1926, in Toledo, OH, he was a son of the late Fredrick and Emma Wegener.
On April 14, 1973, he married Marie L. Miller, who preceded him in death on February 9, 2002.
Harry worked for Penn State University in the ARL department as a Senior Research Assistant, retiring after 36 years of service. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the State College VFW. He was also an avid gardener and woodworker.
He is survived by two daughters; Ardis G. Coslo and her husband Michael of State College and Bonnie L. Wegener of Austin, TX; three sons, Neal Wegener and his wife Sharon of Walnutport, PA, Randy L. Wegener and his wife Deb of Milesburg; and Kurt Wegener and his wife Melissa of Palm Coast FL; a step daughter, Kelly E. Stocks and her husband Bob of Latrobe; a step son, Clair L. Rockey and his wife Stacey of Karthaus, PA; a sister Carol of Toledo, OH; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents Harry was preceded in death by a step-son, Cliff Rockey, seven brothers and three sisters.
Family will receive friends on Friday, March 20, 2009 from Noon until 1:00 pm at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Memorial services will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. P. Stevens Lynn officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, College Township.
