Obituary

Helen Jean Allen Brewer born on May 7, 1924, went into a deep sleep that became eternal on February 10, 2005.
Mrs. Brewer grew up in Waynesburg, PA, with her parents, Helen and Robert Allen; her brother Bob; and four younger sisters, Lois, Mary Jo, Emma and Joan. During the forty years she lived in western PA, she graduated from Waynesburg High School; studied chemistry at Allegheny College; and married William Brewer, father of their five children, Sharon, Patrick, Denise, Bill and Daniel.
After she relocated to State College, PA in the mid sixties, Helen Jean was a successful realtor while continuing to raise her children as a single parent. Her work in sales continued at the retail level in major department stores in Whitehall and Mechanicsburg, PA and in Farmington, CT until her retirement in 1994.
During her residency in Southern California, Helen pursued her passions for reading, roses, ocean views and keeping current in world affairs.
Mrs. Brewer's extended family includes twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two sons in law and three daughters in law one of who predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday, February 12, 2005, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA; with the Rev. Russell L. Sauerwein officiating. Helen Jean's final resting-place is in the Boalsburg Cemetery, Boalsburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Education fund of the League of Women Voters of Lehigh County P. O. Box 3275, Allentown, PA 18106
