Obituary

Helen Smith, 80, of Potters Mills, loving wife and mother, passed on to Heaven, Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College.
She was born in Rankin, PA on September 28, 1925. She was the daughter of Nicholas and Anna Denis Schur of Rankin.
She married H. Dean Smith of Potters Mills on June 25, 1945, and they celebrated 60 years of marriage together.
Surviving along with her husband are three daughters, Jessica McClintic and her husband Gary, of Boalsburg, Gerry Ilgen and her husband Marty of Potters Mills, Jackie Price and her husband Fred of Spring Mills, a son John D. and his wife Marieta of Potters Mills, and a son-in-law Mark Michelotti of State College. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Lanny Johnson II, K. Dean Johnson, Sherri Taylor, Marcy Aument, Matthew Ilgen, Joshua, Selena and Jacob Price, Brett, Brian and Kurt Michelotti, Michael Smith, and Brandon Von Voigt; and four great grandchildren, Logan and Leah Johnson, Hannah Aument and Ashton Taylor. A brother Steve Schur and a sister Rose Bream both of Pittsburgh also survive.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Georganna Michelotti and three sisters.
Helen was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Centre Hall. She was a bookkeeper for her husband's business, The All American Rathskeller in State College until 1980. She loved bingo, was active in family affairs, and was s social member of Old Fort American Legion Post 779. Helen also enjoyed working in the Youth Building Displays at Grange Fair every year and was an avid golfer at the Elks County Club in Boalsburg, where she won two Ladies Club Championships. She truly loved to fish, bowl, crochet and did beautiful needlework.
Relative and friends are invited to her Memorial Service on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 6:30 p. m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, Pennsylvania Ave. and Ridge Street in Centre Hall.
