Helen Elizabeth Warntz Weyman, 89, of Centre Hall, passed away peacefully in the presence of family on Wednesday, September 12, 2012.
She was born November 25, 1922 in Danville to A. Heber Warntz and Elsie Elizabeth Jones. In 1940 she graduated from Lewistown High School and on May 31, 1941 married Richard L. Weyman, Jr. in Lewistown, Pa.
Helen was a member of the Centre Hall United Church of Christ and also belonged to the Young at Heart Club of Millheim. She could be found every week, rain or shine, at the Millheim Lanes as part of the Ladies Tuesday Morning Bowling League. A longtime golfing member of the State College Elks Country Club, she loved to play 18 holes every week - always walking and pulling her own clubs - an activity she maintained well into her 70s. In recent years she enjoyed knitting dishcloths, which were in high demand by friends and family. She was a loyal and true fan of all Penn State sports.
Surviving are four sons, Richard L. Weyman III and wife Patty of Woodward, PA; Michael D. Weyman and wife Sandy of Dallas, PA; Dr. Thomas L. Weyman of Annandale, NJ; and Jeffery M. Weyman of Boalsburg, PA.
She was a proud nana to 12 grandchildren: Dr. Crystal (Patty) Weyman of Cleveland, Dr. Richard (Dennise) Weyman of Davenport, IA, Dr. Michael D (Melissa) Weyman Jr. of Clemson, SC, Dr. Brett (Tara) Weyman of Hartford, CT, Kinsy (Dan) Lukasavage of Dallas, PA, Justin (Lisa) Weyman of Vienna, VA, Aaron (Erin) Weyman of Centre Hall, Stewart (Leanne) Weyman of Parker, CO, Dr. Rebecca (Matthew) Miller of Philadelphia, Brian Weyman of Arlington, VA, Alexis Weyman of Annandale, NJ, and Diana Weyman of Annandale, NJ. Also surviving are 15 great-grandchildren: Drew, Jeremy, Ben, Dane, Nick, Jack, Brady, Piper, Bode, Grace, Claire, Carter, Abbie, Jackson, and Connor.
Her beloved husband Richard, as well as four brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 29 at 11AM at Trinity United Church of Christ S. Pennsylvania Ave, and Ridge St. Centre Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Helen's name may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, P. O. Box 212, Centre Hall, Pa 16828.
