Henrietta E. Bressler,89, formerly of Spring Mills, died September 20, 2015 at Valley View Haven in Belleville.
Born January 20, 1926 in McClure, PA she was a daughter of the late Burton and Celia (Howell) Yeater.
She was the wife of John Henry Homan, Sr. who died January 17, 1960 and Mahlon H. Bressler who died February 29, 1976.
During World War II, she worked at the shirt factory in Lewistown and was a member of the civilian AWS (Aircraft Warning Service) a US Army aircraft observance corp. After the war, she helped with the family's distribution business delivering Beaver Bros. Breads. She also did seasonal work for for the PA Forestry Department, and eventually retired from Gettig Pharmaceuticals and Manufacturing
Henrietta was a lifetime member of weight watchers, she enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, word finds, old western movies especially if they were John Wayne movies, and camping at Poe Valley where she found pleasure looking for deer.
She is survived by three sons, John H. Homan, Jr. (Lannie), Charles "Bill" Homan (Connie) both of Spring Mills and Brian Bressler (Charlene) of Aaronsburg; two daughters, Brenda Hockenberry of Spring Mills and Beverly Miller (Ken) of Mifflinburg, two sisters Darlene Wertz (Dick) of Lewistown and Patsy North (Ron) of Alfarata; a son-in-law, Devon Neideigh of Spring Mills; seventeen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Neideigh, two sisters, Betty Yeater and Marian Long and two brothers, Jess and Ivan Yeater.
Visitation will be Friday, September 25, 2015 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 226 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, Centre Hall. A Funeral Service will follow at noon with the Reverend Chris Korn officiating. Interment will be in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, Centre Hall.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Henrietta's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Unit at Valley View Haven, 4702 E. Main Street, Belleville, PA 17004.
